
Christopher Meadows
Born in Wigan, UK
Lives & works in the Clare Valley, South Australia
Having been an artist, illustrator and educator for most of his life, Christopher has been actively involved in creating and promoting the visual arts in the community both in Australia and overseas. Following his training in visual art and teaching in Adelaide South Australia, he continued to work for many years in local schools in both country and metropolitan areas. he later extended his visual art experiences by working in London, Paris and Osaka.
In addition to teaching art, he also maintained his practice as a painter, illustrator and graphic designer. More recently returning to South Australia to establish his own studio/gallery (Studio Meadows) in the Clare Valley.
Underlining his work as an artist has always been his passion for representational painting and drawing. He is regarded as a careful compositional draftsman who uses traditional mediums and techniques to develop images that reflect a sense of quietness. Natural and urban landscapes, memory and the everyday nature of human existence remain a constant source of inspiration.
