Christopher Meadows

Born in Wigan, UK

Lives & works in the Clare Valley, South Australia

Having been an artist, illustrator and educator for most of his life, Christopher has been actively involved in creating and promoting the visual arts in the community both in Australia and overseas. Following his training in visual art practice and teaching in Adelaide South Australia, he continued to work for many years in local schools in both country and metropolitan areas. In more recent years he has extended his visual art experiences by taking the opportunity to work in Paris and Osaka.

In addition to teaching, he also maintained his interest and involvement as a painter, illustrator and graphic designer. This saw him working in a myriad of styles and creative approaches for a wide range of projects.

Underlining his work as an artist has always been his passion for observational painting and drawing. He is regarded as a careful compositional draftsman who uses traditional mediums and techniques to develop images that reflect a sense of quietness. Landscape, memory and the fleeting nature human existence remain a constant source of inspiration.
